And just like that, our 50th Anniversary Camp comes to an end.
As the flag is lowered on an incredible weekend at Bowley International Scout Centre, we’re reflecting on the memories made, the adventures shared and the friendships strengthened across our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and volunteers.
It’s been a weekend full of laughter, challenge, adventure and celebration – a fitting way to mark 50 years of Scouting in Burtonwood.

A huge thank you goes to all of our amazing volunteers and parent helpers who made the weekend possible. From planning and shopping, to activities, cooking, transporting equipment and supporting young people throughout the weekend, camps like this simply would not happen without you.

Thank you as well to our fantastic young people, who embraced every opportunity, challenged themselves, supported one another and truly made the weekend what it was.

At our recent Community Open Day celebrating our 50th Anniversary, many former members looked back fondly on the memories they made in Scouting between 1976 and 2026. When we celebrate our 100th Anniversary in 2076, we hope today’s young people will look back on the memories they made this weekend in exactly the same way. In fact, some of our Squirrel Scouts who attended camp will be 54 years old by then!

Here’s to the next 50 years of Scouting in Burtonwood!
